help a highschool student?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
im a senior in high school right now and im thinking about/really really want to become a dentist. ive been researching schools and predental programs for quite awhile now.

so...what undergraduate institution do you think is best for pre-dental course and will give me a better chance at a dental school?

also ive been looking at joint degrees program that offers B.S/D.D.S and was wondering if anyone is currently in a program similar to that. what were your stats before applying to the program and how is it?

thanks sooo much for your help!

my sister is about to start a bs/dds program in the fall. i dont know what her highschool GPA was, but she got a 2350 SAT 1.

I don't know much about joint programs, but I'm sure a search would turn up plenty of threads. :luck:

There's a good amount of students at my dental school (UOP) who went to the undregrad UOP campus in Stockton, CA. for their bachelor's.

Colgate!

No, seriously. They're building a new science hall that should be out of this world.

I know that the University of Missouri Kansas City has a program that auto admits you to their dental school after two (maybe three) years. However, I think it is basically impossible to get into without Missouri residency.

I heard BYU and Texas A&M have the largest Pre-Dent society's in the nation (not sure if it is fact)

I think you can't go wrong by attending any 4-yr accredited University and doing well there (and on the DAT). You just have to remember to get those extracurrics, research, shadowing, volunteering type items taken care of no matter where you go.
