Hello,
So I have been studying fairly intensely for about 2 months now up until this point I have done the following..

For Bio
Read Cliffs Bio, Barrons Bio, Kaplan Bio and noted and then took the quiz's and ANKIed any mistakes as well as DAT Destroyer Bio

For G-Chem and O-Chem
I have watched and noted Chad's Videos twice and gone though the quiz's revisiting questions that I answered in correctly until I was able to do so fairly easily.

The problem arrises when I begin to tackle Destoyer...
I try to do 30 question blocks and for OC they go ok I miss any where from a few to sometimes a third depending I suppose on the topics and they way they are presented. I know this is something I can improve upon fairly easily with ANKI so I am not to concerned with O-Chem.

However...for G-chem I got through the first 30 questions alright and I say that tentatively I believe I missed like a third of them 🙁 but then the following day when I approached 30-60 I felt like I knew how to do maybe 10 problems which led me to frustration. Following that I revisited Chad's quizes prob about a week ago and plan to do so again either tomorrow or the following day. I was really hoping to sign up to take my exam the 16th of next month and my experience with those G-chem questions is making me feel like I will get a 13...

I have read so many positive experiences and outcomes with chad's and destroyer so right now I kind of feel like I am missing something...

Should I revisit chad's g-chem quizes til I can just straight cold cock them and get every question of every quiz 100% right before returning to destroyer? or attempt to continue destroyer despite the fact that incorrect answers and questions to review will be piling up?

Any advice will be great! Like I said I really am hoping to take this sucker next month and get it off my back finally...

*just FYI I got a B- and A- in gen chem in the day but I just did and memorized what I had to in order to get by. At that point in my life my only focus was being an athlete unfortunately and I had no idea what I wanted to do as a life long career but I do now! 😍

First off, there's nothing unfortunate about your athletic pursuits, it shows you're more well-rounded than just someone who sits in a library all day and studies and does nothing else. (assuming it didn't cause you to have a completely awful gpa or anything 🙂

From what I keep reading regarding Destroyer and chemistry, it seems Destroyer is harder than the real thing by quite a bit. Also, what kinds of questions are you missing on destroyer? Heavy calculation oriented things? Words/topics, etc you never heard of? Maybe you can identify a pattern to the questions you're missing, so you can focus on your weakness. Regardless, I would just push through the destroyer problems.

You've got over a month, you should be able to go through those destroyer problems thoroughly in a week and half (at 30 a day); keep ANKIing new things you see in Destroyer. I guess my point is this: not breezing through Destroyer on the first try doesn't equate to gaping hole of gen chem knowledge on your part, it's just plain hard. I have not heard one person say that Chad's gen chem videos were lacking when it came to the DAT.

*I myself am almost through his videos for the first time, and I plan to start doing 30-35 destroyer questions a day after I'm done. I'll let you know my own experience once I get to where you are.

*I took gen chem in 2008 myself, studied like crazy and pulled As, but as I watch Chad's videos and browse KBB, I feel like I'm almost totally re-learning it all from scratch, as if all my studying back then was for nothing. 😉
