Question 1:
So i was told if i repeat courses i took such as CHM2045 and PHY2049 that i got B's and C's in, it would look bad and get flagged by AMCAS. I was told you should avoid all red flags. Makes sense. I am returning to school years later and wanna do amazing this time.
So ok no problem.. dont repeat coursework you already took. Got it. Now i have a question and nobody seems to know the answer. I wanna raise my science gpa and am taking extra bio classes but am registered for bio1 too. (its the only prereq that i didnt take in college). I got AP credit for bio 1 BSC2010/1010 and the lab in high school but it's years later and i am back in school and want to take it since i really dont remember it and i can get an A in it and it will refresh my memory before jumping ahead into cellular bio etc.... I never took the bio 1 lecture but did get AP credit and it shows up on my transcript as having received credit for it (of course no grade towards gpa).
If i take bio 1 now for a grade WILL AMCAS FLAG MY RECORD??????? (just like amcas would flag my record if i took a class that i did get a college grade for and is on my transcript as well such as CHM2046?) 😕
Question 2:
i got AP credit for my english courses too but heard that AP credit does NOT count as a full year of freshman composition. Is this true even if on my transcript it says i received AP credit for AML2023, ENC1101,ENC1102? And if i now go back and take ENC1101 for a grade, will it cause my record to be flagged and show up on AMCAS as a repeated class?
