Help! Author conundrum

Hi guys!

So my publication is being submitted and the editor of the journal who had helped me in a few edits of the paper itself. Now that I am submitting to his journal should I list him as author? Don't want it to hurt him in anyway, he had recommended that I submit to his journal.

If I got author credit for the papers I helped edit, my CV would be 20 pages long. Hell no he doesn't go on the author list.
