Help! C in BIO, am i SCREWED???

yes I got a C in bio because of the stupid Bell curve the professor uses. I would have had a B but it was brought down SO MAD. Anyway, if I don't get any more C's will I be ok? I have an A in every other class (Calculus, Chemistry, etc)...

fine.. your not screwed. i was messing with you because there are lots of people that have done way way worse than one C and gotten into plenty of schools. you only need like a 3.4 to get into many dental schools.

Yes, you will be fine if you do well in your other classes. I got a C in first semester Intro Biology but have done very well since them. I am a senior and have gotten into all of my top choices and have yet to recieve a rejection. Dont worry about it...just do well on ur other classes

You will be fine. I am sure Biogirl361 was just joking. I have a couple of C's tainting my transcript and it was only brought up in one interview. Hang in there!!

one C, don't worry about. i did have one C on my transcript, although it was not in Bio. it didn't seem to hurt my success in getting into several schools.

do well on the bio section on the DAT and you're fine.

it might come up in your interviews, and that's a perfect time to explain how the grade was a fluke, proven by the fact that you rocked the DAT. and you ARE going to rock the bio section on the DAT, right? 😉

Phew! Thanks for those quick responses guys... YES I will rock the BIO part of DAT, but I am just really pissed about the Bell Curve, my grade actually went down!! How is that real grading... 🙁

I had several Ds, Cs, and Ws on my transcript. One or two bad grades isn't going to hurt you. Just be sure to do well on the BIO section of the DAT.

I got a C in bio lecture freshman year. I still got into dental school a year early. Yes, you will be fine.

I have an "F" for o-chem, a "C" for analytical chem and a fig fat "D" for my music class... and still got in 😀

I wish people would stop stressing! You'll be fine! Just do your best and don't worry. Even if you think you are "screwed" you never know until you try and actually apply! I didn't have the best grades (pulled up a 2.9 to a 3.5 over 3.5 years) and now I have 2 half tuition scholarships. If you worry your grades aren't up to par, make up for it in other ways: DAT, service, leadership, observation, etc.
