Hello
Can any one help me and explain what the board mean by the non-pharmacy experience(max 600 hours). And can I do it in the same private retail pharmacy. Or i must finish it in hospital pharmacy.

Thank

It's usually related to school experiences that aren't within a pharmacy (research, case conferences, health fairs, and whatnot). At least 900 hours have to be within a pharmacy, but if you can do all 1500 from work you're fine. You can have 0 hours in the non-pharmacy category and be a-okay. At our school, the experiential coordinator would sign off on the 600 hours for students that couldn't reach the 1500 on their own.

Thank for your replay, but this would be the case if I finished school in USA🙂. What I forget to mention is that I am a foreign graduate, and thats way I confused wifh the 600 hours thing.😕

Just do 1500 hours in a pharmacy. Doesn't matter retail or hospital

But when i called the board. They told me that I must do a retail and hospital experence. She told that is the requirement.🙁

No one's gonna check that when it comes time to apply for your license. They don't have time for that. You should have both retail/hospital experience for your rotations anyway.

I did my rotation outside USA, so it will not count. Do you mean I can finish it in retail pharmacy, but they will found out because there will be only one location where i finished my hours.

It's fine. I don't ever remember seeing that the 1500 hours had to be obtained in hospital and retail pharmacy. I did all my hours in retail anyway since I didn't find any hospital internship during school and I got licensed last year. I don't see why the requirements were changed this year.

I just calld the BOP, and you were right. I can do the 1500 hour in the same retail pharmacy. Thank you ravingrabbid
