Do you have any suggestions for strengthening my application for top tiers? I'm seriously considering putting off my application for a year or two to strengthen my chances, but I'm not sure if anything will help at this point.

Besides donating an absurd amount of money, what other ways can I strengthen my application for research-heavy top tiers?

There is no guarantee that if you wait another year you will be accepted to a top 20 school. Besides, by waiting another year you lose $250,000 of income as a physician.
