Especially for the current first year students at UHS, what kinds of clinical opprotunities exist in the new curriculum during the first two years...specifically, when do you learn aseptic surgical procedures, suturing, PD, etc? Thanks in advance for the input.

First, congrats on you acceptance to UHS. To answer your question, members of SOSA (the campus surgery club) are given the opportunity to attend and participate in journal club with attendings and residents from MCI. The club also sponsors suture clinics, central line clinics, and "exposure to OR practice/procedure" clinics. Some members also shadow surgeons. Hope this helps & good luck!
