I was fortunate enough to receive acceptances from these three schools but am having a hard time making a decision. I need to send in a deposit by Friday, so I could really use some input.

After including all costs, CCOM will be ~30k more each year than either of the LECOMs. I was accepted into the DSP pathway in Erie, but would have preferred PBL.

Major factors that influence my decision (outside of cost)

-Proximity to, and affiliation with, desirable residency programs
-Availability of research
-Quality of clinical rotations

I am interested in either an AOA or ACGME residency in a more urban area that will see a wide variety of pathologies. I'm leaning towards Erie, but largely because of the opportunity to do research. If I knew I would be able to find research opportunities in Bradenton or simply did not need research for residency applications, I would prefer florida overall.

Thoughts?

CCOM is by far the best for all 3.

The only question is whether you're willing to shell out the extra cash.

CCOM is definitely the best. If FL is your home state than just go to LECOM-B.

If you're ok with AOA residency, then I think CCOM will give you the best opportunity. If you decide ACGME, then it doesn't really matter as much.

Both Darklabel and alpinism are correct. CCOM is your best option based on your #1 and #3 criteria (I simply do not know anything about research at these schools). Just remember that you will learn what you need to at all of these schools. Base tuition difference between the LECOM schools vs CCOM is ROUGHLY 20K. Is the difference of education worth 80K to you? how much does living in Chicago/Erie/Bradenton matter to you?

Save some money and go to Florida.

I got accepted to CCOM too and for me it would be such an easy decision if it wasn't for the cost! It's a great school and there are plenty of benefits in going there, but I don't know if it's worth an extra 40-120K in total cost compared to other schools that would ultimately lead to a similar outcome.

What are the benefits? I don't know of any besides the rotations thing.

It's 18° today with a fair amount of wind. Bradenton is looking better and better each day.
That's balmy. It was a high of -2 yesterday in Minneapolis.

OP, honestly I would go the cheaper route IF you would be equally happy at any of the schools. I wouldn't choose money over happiness though. Yes the difference in tuition is a lot, but your overall happiness/life experiences is more important. You will be able to pay off the money down the road. So if you like a school better overall (fit, atmosphere, location), then go for it!
