So I am trying to decide between Genetics and Evolutionary Developmental Biology. Which one would be better?

If I had to pick one, I would pick Evolutionary Developmental Biology since it's more directly related to a dental school curriculum than Genetics.

Genetics... because it is more related to dental school than the other. Mostly because some schools specifically recommend or suggest it as a upper level biology course.

🙁 I don't even know what to do. The Genetics class seems so hard and tedious and the worst part is that I am taking Orgo 1 this semester. I just don't want to screw my GPA.

I found all bio courses relatively easy (just memorize). I dont know much about the evo course but I took genetics and was a breeze. I took it with a chem course, an env science course, and two math courses all at same time in 8 week summer session (5 courses, 20 credits, 56 days = 4.0 gpa) and they were all easy. Hard part was taking 2 or more exams pretty much everyday M-F (some days 4 exams, and of course multiple finals on same day as well) for about 7 weeks str8.

Have you taken the DAT yet?

If yes, take Evolutionary Developmental Biology, it will help you on the NBDE I.

If no, take Genetics, it will help you on the DAT.
