Hi everyone - sorry to barge in with a question like this.

My corgi mix got into the trash last night and ate chicken bones and pork rib bones. This morning, she refused to eat or drink but her appetite has gotten better tonight. She threw up what seems like most of the bones this morning and her stool was very dry but not discolored.

However, my main concern is that this afternoon she defecated and her stool was bright red. She just went to the bathroom 1/2 hour ago and it was still bright red. I saw some sharp bone shards in her stool. She's become more active as the day went by.

Should I wait till the morning to call the vet or should I take her to the emergency hospital right now? I'm away from home and I'm not even sure if I can get a hold of a vet.

This thread is probably going to get locked because, per the forum rules, you are not allowed to ask for veterinary advice on the forum. That's what vets are for. If you're worried about your dog, you need to call the vet. Good luck.

SDN is not the place for medical advice. Please consult your veterinarian. Good luck!
