hi. i am a professional baseball player with the pittsburgh pirates. i will leave my name unsaid because i dont know why it would be useful for you guys to know.

in short i am tired of playing with baseball and i want to do something that is more honerable like become a docter of medical.

plus i might not be on the team next year so i want to have a back up plan.

can someone help me by telling me how to apply to become a docter.

i am very happy i found this website with many people who seem like they know a thing or two things about how to become a docter.

Step One: Learn how to spell doctor. (I'm just kidding with ya! )
Step Two: Take the pre-reqs (Bio, Chem, Physics, English, Math)
Step Three: Take the MCAT
Step Four: Get letters of recommendation/committee letters
Step Five: Apply via AMCAS

What is your educational history in terms of schools, degrees, etc? You'd need a four-year degree from a college, along with particular coursework while you're there, etc. I'm sure we could give you a decent roadmap to a medical career if we had a bit more information on your background.

so you are somehow doing this (according to a thread you started earlier): "I will be starting a non-MSTP MD/PhD program this fall and am curious as to whether there are any sources of funding for MD/PhD students that are not funded with the MSTP, such as private sources or anything."

and are a baseball player? fascinating

Probably because you play for the pirates....rock on small market teams!

He's quite the multi-tasker! 😉

Wow, the Pittsburgh Pirates? ARE THEY STILL IN THE MINOR LEAGUES? Nah, just kidding. You should really out taking the pre-reqs and head from there. Start looking at some serious college work.

i am very incouraged to get all of your helpful inputs about what its like being a doctor (thanks for telling me the correct spelling!), that would be important for becoming a doctor!!!!! :luck:

i like clovers :luck: :luck: and i like you

no...no one has ever done that in there lives

if u have a batting average of around 320 its pretty good

I have to admit that this is quite the unique trolling scenario. You get an A for creativity, but a C for consistency (gotta work on that if you want people to actually believe you).

did anyone see the allstar game?

i am a baseball player

Oh my gosh, this is cracking me up! 🙂

I am an incoming medical student and have been reading a lot on these forums about when/how to start preparing for Step 1. One of my main points of confusion is how Step 1 relates to regular medical school course work. Is thoroughly understanding one's course work insufficient for Step 1 preparation? The impression I get is that Step 1 covers things other than what we will learn in our medical school classes? Could someone please clarify my understanding of this? I understand that medical schools differ in their courses, but is there a general trend as far as how course work relates to what is tested in Step 1?

Thanks in advance.

I guess that a 1000 batting average must be like the mythical 45T on the MCAT. Maybe we need a thread that attempts to correlate batting average to SAT, ACT and MCAT scores.

Don't forget bowling average and golf handicap! And FIDE rating!

Did I miss anything?

PLEASE TELL US WHO YOU ARE!!!!!

It would be great if you go into sports medicine after you graduate from medical school.

I get the feeling you are a latino player, if you are, it would be great for you to attend a medical school.

Excuse me?

I would have to think hy2026 would be joking. Though there's no way to tell now.
