I need help formulating my list of schools that I should apply to. I'm a little bit different because I haven't taken the MCAT yet, but will take it July 8th. Plan on submitting my AMCAS in June and possibly adding schools right after taking my exam depending on how I felt about the exam to speed up the overall process.

Stats/About me
NY Resident, not URM
Undergrad: NYU
GPA: 3.52
MCAT: Haven't taken it and I hate to predict my score, but based on practice so far, if everything goes right between a 512-514 (32-34 range old exam). Really trying to do my best to make up for my mediocre at best GPA. Any insight on what realistic score I should aim for that would put in a somewhat of a comfort zone for acceptance?

700 hours of research hopefully publishing this summer. Will be after the summer so possibly will send update letters. Not banking on a pub fitting the timeline, but possible.

Multiple clinical jobs, such as research assistant, scribe, transcriptionist, hospital volunteering, some shadowing, working in the ER etc.

Non clinical volunteering such as 30 hours at soup kitchens, around 60 hours tutoring, 30 hours at a non-profit, 25-30 hours playing with kids at rec center programs etc.

Thank You!

Oh wow thanks. That looks amazing. Will have to calculate my score and look at what schools fit.

Also to add to my initial post. I do have a list of schools I plan on applying to so far. Any schools I should take out? Put in?

NYU
Mt. Sinai
Stony Brook
Downstate
Upstate
Albany
Cornell
NYMC
Hofstra
Drexel
Albert Einstein
Buffalo
Tufts
Boston University
Georgetown
GWU
Rochester
Temple
Jefferson

Your list is good but Cornell, NYU and Mt. Sinai are reaches with your GPA and projected MCAT. You could add schools such as:
Quinnipiac
Vermont
Penn State
Oakland Beaumont
Western Michigan
Rosalind Franklin
Loyola
Creighton
Your chances are very dependent on doing well on the MCAT since your GPA is is only average.

Got it. I simply put them down because I'm a NYC resident and hope to stay around the area. Aren't a lot of the schools you listed, schools that favor their state students?

This reminds me to buy the MSAR right now

Only Vermont favors IS applicants but because there are so few people in Vermont the majority of students are OOS. You could also add CUNY which is now in the MSAR and presumably will now be accepting applicants from the general applicant pool but check with the school.
