My wife wants me to do my residency in St. Louis, but I am wholly unfamiliar with the area. (Her parents just moved there). Is there anybody out there that knows of a good family practice residency there? It looks like Des Peres hospital has one, and St. Johns hospital. But that's all I can find in St. Louis. Does anybody know anything about those two hospitals or of any others there?
Thanks!!

I think St. Louis U. has one.

According to FRIEDA, the only FM residency in St. Louis is St John's Mercy. There are others in KC, Columbia and Springfield though.

St. Louis University nominally has one in St. Louis. It's really over in Belleville, IL - about 30 minutes from the hospital. It's combined military.

St. Johns Mercy has had a program since the late 1960s. One of the oldest. 1100 bed community hospital. Other residencies in Ob/Gyn and IM at the hospital.

University of Missouri is in Columbia, MO - about 1.5 hours from St. Louis.

Des Peres Hospital has one as well - DO program mainly.

SIU has one in C'dale. My mom went through it in the 90's. Good program and you rotate through a lot of community clinics/hospitals 1-1.5 hours from STL.

The one in Belleville is about 30 mins. from downtown STL at St. Elizabeth's hospital. Not a bad place.
