I have taken the MCAT once last summer (24 8-8-8), then again this April (24 9-6V-9). This is very disappointing to me because I feel this isn't an accurate measure of my abilities. I plan on taking the test August 14th. I have already put in my application to many schools and I am hoping to do well this time, however, I am still scoring 23-24 on my practice tests. I will get 7P-6V-10B or 10P-7V-7B or something along those lines. It is very frusterating because I feel like I know the information and have been practicing for over a year! Any advice on how to raise my scores?

My resume isn't anything too special, but I am not an under achiever by any means. 3.66 GPA (3.60 science) been involved with volunteer/service programs, philathropic event organizer for my fraternity, intermural sports, volunteer at a hospital.

See the MCAT discussion Forum for tips on studying to raise your scores.

If being a physician is more important to you than the letters after your name, you might consider putting in an application to DO schools as well, in case the score doesn't go up. You would have a good chance with your current stats. If MD schools are important to you, consider taking a formal MCAT prep course or getting an MCAT tutor to help you.

Thanks for the advice. I should mention, I did put my application into DO schools as well. Also, I did take the Kaplan course last summer.

I'm glad you''re on top of things.

If the Kaplan course was on-line, then consider a classroom course, maybe with Princeton Review.
