So I live in NY and want to practice in NY, but what happens if I attend a school say in arizona. Can I still practice and get licensed in NY after going to school for 4 years in arizona?

so basically. What is the procedure to get licensed in a different state than the state you went to school?

Does it depend on where you do residency or are there separate state exams that anyone can take?

You can attend school in any state. After your residency (which may also be in a different state) you can move back to the state you'd like to live/practice in. You'll just need to apply for a medical license in that state (NY).

The boards are national so it's only a matter of paperwork and finding a job I believe.
