hey guys soo i am doing a post bacc this year.. and i am still debating.. ppl say to apply to med school early and apps are out i dont want to take a leap year.. i called one school and they said to wait for orienation because an advisor will tell us what to do with ur app.. should i wait.. or do i send in my med app now?! please help giuys..

Are you starting a career changer postbac this summer, meaning as of this point you have taken none of the prerequisites nor the MCAT?

And if so, are you asking if you should apply to medical school this summer without possessing any of the requirements for acceptance to medical school?

answer the above, also if you have already taken the mcat and pre-reqs, what are your stats (gpa, mcat), more info is needed to help answer...

hey guys.. i actually have all the pre reqs.. i am debating between drexel and vcu for post bacc.. i dpont know which program to go to .. but my stats are :
URM ny resident
alot of good activities: shadow, reserach, volunteer, mission trip, histo tech,
2.9 sgpa and gpa
29 mcat


i was wondering if i dont want to do a leep year when shud i send in my med app.. i heard to appl yearly but does it matter with post bacc kids since they wait on us anyway thanks guys

what do you mean they wait on you? who waits on you? med schools? why would they wait on you?

With a 2.9 sGPA and cGPA you need an SMP not a postbac

We are being constructive...

I wouldn't send in an app this year, you are so far from being competitive that even if you got a 4.0 your first semester, it'd only be 1 semesters worth of great grades to try and repair your GPA.

You should take the glide year and apply with a years worth of great grades under your belt.
