i figured since a lot of you study in the library, this would be a good place to get some headphone suggestions.

I was interested in buying ones that are around 50 bucks and something over the ear that can be used for listening to music on itouch and watching movies on computer.

here's the ones that I found interesting:

thanks for all the help!!

I'm not familiar with the $50 range headphones, but research at www.head-fi.org and you'll find something. I have a set of Audio-Technica ATH-M50s that I love. You want to get a closed design vs open or semi open to block out the sound and not bother other people in the library with it.

I have a set of HD202 and they are great. It was like $25 dollars when I got it and well worth it. Bass is good, and sound is clean for the price. It is also pretty good at blocking out noise. Make sure you find something that fits comfortably as some headphones can get uncomfortable after 4+ hours of use.

The RS120, I also have those, but they are more for home entertainment/desktop usage. The wireless stand/cradle is the wireless receiver so you have to plug that into a wall plug. It's bulky to carry around and doubt you want to lug that thing in your backpack. The headphone also buzzed a lot and wasn't that great.

Take a look at this also:

so which one would be better then, ATH M30 or MDR XB300?

Fielder's choice. The best-case scenario is finding a friend with a nice set of headphones that you can try for a solid day or two of studying/listening. If you can't do that, just try and feel them out. It's you're decision, and the criteria are for the most part subjective.

I have the MDR-XB500 there a step up from the 300. If you look around online you can find them pretty cheap I think mine were like 85 brand new shipped to me. If you don't want to spend the extra I would get the 300.
