I have been a little too slow in application process for 2007 (my first year). I just scheduled for end of November to take my first DAT and have already submitted my AADSAS. Do you guys think it's too late to take the DAT by then. Should I change to an earlier time? The only reason was because I have a Fall recess during the last week of Nov. and can use the 10 days to review.
I have finished Kaplan in summer and planning on reviewing it again + achiever + destroyer.

PLEASE ADVISE!

WELL theoretically, even for us who took the DAT in sept and have all our checks secondaries aadsas pictures etc in,we're stuck getting interviews in dec/jan/etc. so i guess if you have all your stuff in all theyre waiting for is DAT scores and you might still get interviews, but like super-late? i have a friend retaking the DAT in december so shes basically in your situation.

a friend of mine is also taking his dat then....it will be a bit late in the cycle but there is still hope

yeah, just hope, fleeting hope.

sorry, but like amsie said, those who took it a month ago are still waiting for interviews or getting them in dec/jan+

remember it takes ~3 weeks for your scores to be sent out. by then, letters of acceptances will have been written up if not sent. although i am an advocate of grabbing every oppurtunity that comes along, depending on your financial situation, it may be a wiser move to apply first thing next cycle.

Depending on where you have applied, I think you'll get in somewhere if you do well with decent gpa. I'm in your shoes too. I'm taking it late also.

see, that's what I call confidence. You are gonna get in with this much confidence, and thanks for encouraging me. 👍

To the OP:

I will say go for it!!! There's always hope, right?. Do your best on the DAT and GOOD LUCK! 👍

say in this situation, would the schools be against faxing a copy of your DAT scores right when you yourself get them instead of having to wait the additional 3 weeks for them to arrive there?!?

That sucks. Would it really take 3 weeks for them to get your DAT scores from ADA? Is this because ADA sends it to AADSAS and then they take their time, like they do when sending your application? Then why the F$%^& do we pay them so much $? It should only take a few days for a $0.39 stamp they use for each school! I don't get it, do u?😕

Although they may look official, that printout you get from that prometric center is not official. You faxing them over to your schools is the same as you writing your scores in an e-mail. They literally cannot do anything until they get official scores from the ADA.

I waited until Oct 9th to retake my DAT even though my application was submitted in July. Since I made it clear I was going to retake my DAT I think that they just threw my file aside (no rejections yet) until they get my new scores.

It's painful to just sit back and wait, but it's all out of our hands now. Good luck!

Eaaaaasy kiddo. They are sent from the ADA. And the catch is, it takes "up" to three weeks for your scores to be sent out. AADSAS is not involved, except when you update your DAT scores or this semester's grades (next semester's classes), then they create a new application and mail it out. It will say "revisions sent Nov. 10" or whatever.

A nice prank on AADSAS would be to change something every week or so. By the time they're almost done with new revisions, they would have to start over again.
