Help! I've gotten secondaries but AMCAS welcom page still says active

Hello,

I submitted AMCAS July 1. All my transcripts were received July 6, and that's when I went active. July 9 I started receiving secondaries, but to date my AMCAS welcome page still says active.

What does this mean? Does this mean something got screwed up? Wouldn't it say processed or transmitted if everything was ok? Also, I can't check my AMCAS calculated GPA on there yet, b/c I'm still active.

I'm worried. I also have only gotten 3 secondaries, but I applied to 26 schools.

Please help, anyone!

There's no need to be worried, IMO. AMCAS releases some biographical info to the schools on your list, so even though your application has not yet been processed, the schools with your bio (that do not screen) proceeded to send you secondaries. Also, don't worry about only getting 3 secondaries thus far. I applied to 15 and I get a few more each week, so just give them some time. Also, for schools that screen, they won't send you anything until they've gotten your AMCAS.

i submitted my app for verfication on 7/6 and got an email from uf on 7/8 saying:


"The University of Florida College of Medicine has received your preliminary, unverified AMCAS application for the class entering Fall 2005. The attached Applicant Information Form is the next step in the application process. Please print the application, complete it, and send it along with the $30.00 non-refundable fee....."



some (all?) schools must get pinged when you hit the button to submit. i guess anybody you get a secondary from is clearly telling you that they don't screen primary apps.....

what are you stressing for? you haven't even filled out the secondaries yet and you are worried about all that other stuff! take one step at a time. 😉
