Hi,

I'm a Junior at a top tier school in NY. I have a 2.9 cGPA and a 2.6 sGPA. I want to go to medical school. I have not taken my MCAT (new edition 2015) yet. I have just started the school committee portfolio process and am feeling overwhelmed. I've never gotten a D or F but I have a lot of Bs and few Cs on my transcript. I've interned for healthcare organizations and done a lot of lab work. What schools will I even have a shot at and what MCAT score will get me into said schools? I plan on working hard this year so I should have a cGPA of 3.0-3.1 and an sGPA of ~2.8 by the time applications come out. Please help.

Your only shot at DO with a sGPA under 3 is with an MCAT over 99%. Do a postbach or look into podiatry

Your GPAs are lethal for any medical school. How do you know that you'd even survive med school?? it's a LOT hard than anything your UG school will through at you.

Do not bother taking the MCAT.

retake all C science grades, and then consider a post-bac or SMP and ACE them for mmD schools (and MCAT as well). For DO schools, the grade replacement may suffice.

The first thing you need to do is figure out and get help for why you not doing well. Go visit your school's learning or education center.
