Hi there! It has been a while since I have posted. So, here is a little history about myself. I am a 28 y.o. non trad student. I applied to veterinary school last cycle and obviously didn't get in. My work and volunteer experiences are great, but my GPA was low. I currently work full time and have opted to sit out this cycle to improve my application. Having said that, I am looking for online science based programs. A masters program would be great, but I would also be interested in a college or university that offers a lot of upper level sciences online. I have looked into Colorado State U. online, but am looking to pick up between 20-30 more credits and most of the science courses online are courses I have already completed. SO...Any suggestions of schools I should look into for online coursework??? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance and good luck to everyone applying this cycle!!

I don't think that I would suggest taking online science courses. Science courses usually all require labs, and you can not do labs online. I know some schools like UGA do not allow pre-req science classes that have been taken online. Since you work full time you will probably have to pick up night classes, or find a part time job. Just out of curiosity, what is you're gpa?

My GPA is right around 2.9. Ochem and I didn't get along 🙁

More than likely, you're best option is to going to be to repeat Organic Chemistry.

I would also recommend finding classes that are not online - it mimics the DVM environment and that is what they are looking for - to see if we can handle the difficulty of their programs. I also have a lower GPA with tons of varied experience - the only feedback I've gotten so far is to keep taking upper level science classes and taking full loads.

I am currently enrolled in a masters program that is designed for pre professional students that need to strengthen their application. Most of the students are pre med but it works for pre vet as well. See the link below for more information. They have had a really strong success rate so far - however I have not applied since being in the program so I don't know from personal experience yet. What I do know is that my study and time management skills have improved ALOT with this program so I'm hoping it makes the difference in my application this year.

I may be in a similar situation. What kind of experience do you have and how much? How long has it been since your undergrad graduation?
