hello
I want to apply to no more than 15 schools (to cut down on costs)
I am a california resident, gpa ~3.85, mcat 33, extracurriculars some shadowing, some volunteering, not a lot. (i have a full time job, its not like i am watching spongebob all day)
I basically got the excel thing and eliminated schools based on OOS friendliness, whether or not they require biochem (i dont have it), and a few other factors.
here is my list. the ones that have stars next to them, i am definitely applying to.
UCSD*
UCSF*
Tufts
NYU
Brown
Dartmouth*
Einstein*
U of Rochester*
Case Western
U of Virginia
UCLA*
Boston*
U of Cincinnati
St. Louis U*
Wake Forest
Penn State
Georgetown
Rosalind Franklin
Creighton
Albany
Jefferson
U of Vermont
Loma Linda*
Loyola
Temple
W. Virginia
Tulane
NYMC
Drexel
Virginia Commonwealth
U of Central Florida
Commonwealth
I dont know how to eliminate anymore. mostly because i dont know enough about these schools. are there any of these schools that are screaming at you "dont apply dont apply" ? (highly unlikely that a CA resident will get in, highly unlikely that someone with little volunteering will get in, highly unlikely someone with no biochem will get in, etc.) i also hate bench research so if any of these schools emphasize that, then they are automatically eliminated.
