hi!
i want serious advice on how to retain pharma as it is very volatile for me i am really very scared about it please , right now i am using lippincott for it .please tell me what is the best way to learn it & retain most of the information.
thanks in advance &good luck to you all.

in my opinion, first aid is enough. depending on how long you have till the exam, if i were you, i would make notecards of the drugs in first aid and start going over them over and over and over and over and over again .... you get the point. i think thats the only way to tackle pharm.

I make my own study sheets. I find that writing down the drug name, MOA, SE, etc. halps me to remember. Try making up your drug lists as you go along and then reading through them b4 you go to sleep.

Pharm was by far my weakest subject. I crammed most of the material the day before the exam by putting the drugs mechanism of actions, clinical use, adverse side effects, and drug-drug interactions on a chart the day before each exam. I finished with a respectable score but needless to say, I forgot most of the stuff right after pharm class was over and began to wonder how I ever passed the class.

Now I am doing pretty good with Pharm on Qbank and practice tests. What helped me was making flash cards of a lot of the drugs in FA, reading them over and over, and doing a lot of Qbank and Qbook pharm questions.

pharmcards are a good resource. But I have been told by a lot of people, that first Aid is good enough. My suggestion would be using FA as a spring board, and if you find anything that is too thin or confusing, you can look it up in the Lippincott and take note in FA. I think the goal I have is to compile a FA that has all my notes in it, so that I will have 1 source to review it all. I mean, who has the time to review all the 7-9 different sources in the end of 4-7 wks of studying....

also, it would be helpful to study with a partner on this topic. one of my friend and I have been quizing each other on the pharm section. I think it forces you to recall and to realize what you missed on the first run through.
