Hey guys, I'm planning to apply very soon and I need some advice with my school list. I looked through a book similar to the MSAR and CIB and was wondering what you guys think about what I should add and subtract from my list

cum GPA 3.35
sci GPA 3.05 (for AACOMAS, got an F in orgo first time around and retook for a B+)
MCAT: Taken on Sept 9th, still unknown, but I'd guess around a 28-30 to be safe? (knock on wood)
Asian American
NJ Resident- male

Please help me identify any instate preferential schools and schools that have averages far exceeding mine

MD:
Howard University
Morehouse SOM
Southern Illinois University
Rosalind Franklin Univ.
UMDNJ/ RBJ
Mount Sinai SOM of NYU
NY Medrical College
Drexel Univ. COM
Meharry Medical

DO:
Arizona COM of Midwestern Univ
Chicago COM of Midwestern Univ
Des Moines Univ COM
Kansas City Univ. of Medicine and Biosciences- Osteopathic College
Lake Erie COM
Lincoln Memorial Univ. DeBusk COM
Nova Southeastern Univ COM
NYCOM of NYIT
Pikeville COM
Touro COM
Touro Univ- California Touro Univ.
Nevada Touro Univ
UMDNJ Osteopathic Med
Univ. of New England COM
Rock Vista University COM

any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Err...remove all MD schools except maybe your state school. Southern Illinois only accepts IL residents. I do not have any advice for DO.

I agree, partly.

I would remove (definitely):
Howard University
Morehouse SOM
Southern Illinois University

Rosalind Franklin Univ.
UMDNJ/ RBJ
Mount Sinai SOM of NYU
NY Medical College
Drexel Univ. COM - you CAN keep this, but be warned, they already have thousands of applicants
Meharry Medical

Maybe in their place, add:
Commonwealth
UIC
Oakland...

Really, I would wait til next year, as your app is quite late. But that's just my $0.02.

If you are set on applying this late in the season to AMCAS, I'd suggest submitting to your state school only (to get the verification process going), until you have the MCAT score back. You can add and pay for more schools once you know how competitive you are.

would this be for both MD and DO or just MD?

anyone have input on the DO schools or should I post in the DO forums for that kind of info?
