I am applying for the 2005 cycle and 90% of the schools I have applied to already have the necessary materials. My GPA is somewhere around 2.75 (not lower) w/science. Throughout college i worked 30-35 hours with some extra activities ie shadowing, volunteer...etc. Since my PAT and QR scores are low I thought if I could maintain my scores in the other sections and improve by at least 2-3 points in the PAT and QR my TS would jump therefore improving my chances to getting in. My problem lies here though: PAT is a challenge for me and I don't know what I can do to improve the score- suggestions are really needed for this and QR. Lastly what does everyone think my chances are to getting into a dental school for 2005? Thanks for your help.

Have you called the dental schools that you are applying to? They might tell you that retaking the DAT is pointless, your scores are very good and some schools do not necessarily look at the PAT, but only your AA/Sci/GPA... I think it would be worth a call rather than going through all of that again for no reason...

I would definitely not take the test again. Your AA and TS are rock solid. No point in risking those scores to raise PAT a couple points.

Like BigRed said, call some schools up and get their opinions. I think those scores will net you some interviews for sure, regardless of your GPA.
