Help me trim my list

I am trying to cut back my DO list to about 5 schools and I need help. Which schools would you get rid of, as far as prestige, board prep, and residency placement is concerned. Are any of the schools I have notorious for sending grads into PC?

Stats and where you are from would be helpful in this situation. Also are you trying to or trying NOT to go into primary care.... I can't tell by your post

why dont you investigate each school and look through the school specific threads to make your decisions? i don't see how a group of strangers making a list of schools for you is a good idea.

I have been reading through the specific discussions and the webpages. I just wanted some feedback from people who have more experience at some of these particualr schools, like someone who is going there or interviewed there last year.

stats- 29 3.8c/3.7s, lots of med volunteering, research and leadership ECs, some shadowing and some nonmed community service plus one semester of tutoring. I am assuming good LORs (i had 2 MD interviews last year and i applied in october). I don't have a DO LOR yet, but I am trying to get one soon.

good stats you can def even have a shot at your in state schools for MD. In terms of DO def keep DMU, Nova, CCOM and AZCOM and PCOM, except for azcom the others are some of the more prestigous and older schools. pcom even has the highest specialization rate and ccom graudates are known to get some pretty competitive residencies in terms of specialty and location.

But are you interested in DO over MD because you prefer DO or you think ur stats cant get u into MD. If you retake ur mcat and raise it by a few ud def get some itnerviews for MD if not alraedy with what u have

PCOM is regionally biased, its arguably the best DO school. KCOM is also an absolutely FANTASTIC school. Its the oldest and most established school. If you are from the Philly area or anywhere east coast-ish I would personally keep PCOM, CCOM, DMU, KCOM, Nova or Western.
