Small Animal Differential Diagnosis book vs. Small Animal Veterinary Nerdbook. Pros/cons of each? Or both because they're different enough and serve different purposes? Discuss.....

TIA

I used the differential diagnosis book some during my internship, but it's mostly lists and I wish it talked about pathophys more. I would use it to round out my ddx list, but then have to go look up why the less obvious things were differentials in case I was asked to defend the list by the clinicians. Haven't used the nerdbook.

Thank you both for the info, that definitely helps!

Just to bounce off of Jayna's comment... The Nerdbook does have pathophys in it. It's the best part of the book, imo.

It's a little weaker on differentials and treatments (cardiology in particular seems a little lacking/outdated in these areas) but the intros to each section have pathophys summaries, and are pretty great.

So... The best answer might be "get both." 😉
