Hi everybody,

I need to know what do you think about my problem(s) ,

I'm a grad student(working in lab about 20h a week sometimes 10), taking MCAT in 3 weeks, I'm taking OrgoII and English I for the second summer which started today.
The level of the courses here are very low, so getting an A in science classes needs only minimal studying, however I'm not sure about English(second language).
I'm an international student so postponding for a year is not an option for me right now, I've taken a Biochem course but it's grad level so probably not accepted for Orgo II.
Last but not least! I probably can't take orgo in the fall because the department doesn't let me, I'm not sure about English, and I'm graduating in December so I can take courses after that.

Do you think I should take these two classes along with studying for MCAT,considering that I'm not done with my content?

I appreciate your help!I know there is no cure I just want to have the best chance of life with less pain!

I must admit, I am a little confused. You are taking organic chem II, but you haven't taken organic chem I? You are in grad school?

Can you outline your education a little bit more in full? Are you attending school in the US? Are you still working on your prereqs? Feel free to PM me if you wish. I'd like to try to help, but I am a little confused about your post. You also mention your an international student...are you trying to get into med school here in the US?

Thanks Krisss ,

It's really confusing actually, I've taken OrgoI , I'm taking OrgoII right now, and I'm in TX, I've taken BioI & II, Gen chem I &II also, no English .
I have 2 English courses in my undegrad foreign degree.

If I understand correctly.... I would think you should just concentrate on MCAT for now and take Orgo II etc afterwards. As long as you finish the prereqs by the time med school starts, you're fine. And you don't really need much Orgo II for the MCAT (esp if you've already had Biochem). Just make sure you put on your apps that these are planned/future courses, and what semester you'll be taking them.

Have you taken physics? I didn't see you mention that in your post. If you haven't taken physics I would really suggest holding off on the MCAT as physics will definitely consume a large portion of the physical sciences section.

Also have you taken any practice exams? If you have taken a couple of practice exams and are scoring 27+ than drop the Orgo and / or English class and study your ass off for the next 3 weeks to try and get that score above a 30 and take the MCAT. You could even postpone the MCAT till the August 13-21 dates and give yourself an extra couple of weeks if needed.

If however, you are scoring below a 24 or so than forget about this cycle and finish your coursework. Take the MCAT next year and then apply. If you must apply this year then the only other option would be to drop the courses and schedule for a September date and study full-time until then.
