Help Narrowing School List (Applying Summer 2011)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
those reach schools, should not be your reach schools. You have very slim chance. I would make different reach schools.

If you aren't fairly strong in nonmedical, noncampus community service, you might take out Georgetown, Creighton, Howard, Loyola, and Meharry.

Without research, consider removing: Case, UNC, Mayo, Wake, NYU, Vanderbilt, Cornell, Pitt. Not sure about Rochester. (Some of these might consider particular strength in leadership/community service to compensate for a lack of research.)

Cold weather in winter: MCW, UIC, Iowa, Rosalind Franklin, Mayo, possibly some in NY: I'd try to remove this restriction as some of these are excellent schools for you to apply to.

Iowa used to ave an OOS MCAT minimum that you don't meet, so check to see if that's still true.

amazing list Catalystik

Can you give me advice too?
I see that you are very helpful and I am in a point i need to make decision.

I have gpa of 3.6. and I am graduating in spring 2011. I have no research and I just start volunteer on this summer. I wonder if I should apply on 2011 or 2012? And was wondering if I should do SMP? Cause I heard SMP is not that useful and suggest MPH. Can you tell me what to take?????

And what to do????

Thanks
