HELP! Need advice on asking to my reschedule interview date

Hey guys,

I received an interview invite from a program for a specific date. I already put in my RSVP. However, I have a sudden family circumstance that I won’t be able to attend the schools interview day.

The email specifically stated that the program does not reschedule interviews. However, I really would hate to lose the opportunity. Any advice? Is it unprofessional of me to still ask if it is possible ? Has anyone been in the same situation and the school let them reschedule?

The only thing you can do is contact them to explain your situation and ask.

I had a similar situation happen with WCU, who even go so far as to post their interview dates way ahead of time on their website. They were able to reschedule me for the following week. I should add that the first interview date fell within finals week for most schools so I think they probably had this back up day all along.
