So there's the thing. I need to get anything more than 240-250 on step 1 to get into program i am interested in. Currently in 2nd year. and i am planning to start study during my last semester of 2nd year and then i will have 3 months after that purely to study for step 1. I am debating whether to use First Aid or Kaplan lecture notes to study for step 1. I have talked to some people and i get different response. Here are the 2 options, please help me decide which one will help me get 240-250.

1. First Aid + Uworld + Kaplan Qbank (if time permits)

2. Kaplan Lecture Notes and Videos (for everything except Path) + Goljan Path + BRS Physio (review) + Uworld + FA (quick review nearing the test day) + Kaplan Qbank (if time permits).

Some people have told me that if i memorize FA cover to cover i will be able to get 225-230 for sure, but it does not have enough info to take me from a 230 to a 240+.

I am not a brilliant kid. i may be just above average, but i I am very motivated and i am ok with working hard as along i can achieve my dream. The last semester of my 2nd year at my school is little lightweight so i will have time to start my prep early on.

I would really appreciate your response and time.

Those people are idiots. Memorizing FA cover to cover is the exception, not the norm. No one memorizes FA. Plenty of people read through FA and work through UWorld and do great on the exam.

you should use supplemental resources on your weaker subjects though. FA is in a high condensed format so you may read it and completely gloss over a connection that is more easier made with more texts

Goljan path is way too much path for the boards. Kaplan path is more than enough
