I have been taking some practice exams on Bootcamp and ended up having low scores is that normal for beginners?
I have went over Destroyer and felt confident until I started taking the practice exams...

Thanks for any help!

I was the same way for my first BC tests, I went back and studied the sections I wasn't doing well in and my scores went up/are going up... currently studying too [emoji28]

BC is very similar to the real exam. See if you get similar scores on the exam #2's also.. The thing about destroyer is that you may get things right, but you are not doing it timed or in a stressful situation like full length exams. Best suggestion is to review the exam and see if there are a lot of holes in your knowledge if then you may want to study first a bit more before taking practice exams.

Thank you, I am reviewing the questions I am not getting right and studying them before I try another exam. It's just really dis-motivating ...

I am taking notes on whatever I get wrong as well... Good luck studying. What material(s) are you using?

part of the struggle in studying for DAT and later on in dental school is not getting discouraged and keeping your confidence. Keep fighting because every day will not be your day but if you persevere, you will ace the DAT.

Thank you for your kind words! I am trying hard to not let the emotions and all the negative hits put me down!

That's what I do. I have Chad's, Bootcamp, and Destroyer. Good luck to you too!

This great advice. Thank you

If you took the practice test before putting in a few weeks of studying, It's very normal for it to be low. I don't think I had any section above a 20 the first time I took a bootcamp test. Only after putting in hours of studying for a few weeks, was able to see my scores consistently rise. As you take more tests and cover new material while you study, be sure to make flash cards and review them often. If you don't, you'll begin to forget things you once had down solid. I would be livid when I would come across a question that asked about something I had gone over, but just couldn't recall. Flash cards are a must. Good luck!
