For # 97: The answer is D but i don't understand how they can be identical compounds since they have different substituents.

For #89: the answer is B. But Im getting 3 products: ortho and para for the outside rings, and one para for the ring in the middle.

any help would be appreciated, thank you.

There are threads on these errors. Type in the year of the exam with the word errors and it should pop up.

Iv'e searched but haven't been able to find a thread that list these as questions with errors.

if anyone has a link that would be awesome

97 is definitely A.
The answer key must be wrong.

They are both 9Carbons total and have 2 elements of unsaturation.

I also agree with bromination. There are 3 different positions.
Do you have the page with explanation?

No explanations given, the questions are from the 2009 ADA Exam.

Hey, when you ordered your 2009 ADA exam it should have came with a sheet of paper that says : DAT Practice Test Errata Sheet". That sheet shows all the errors/corrections that are in the 2009 ADA exam

In the correction sheet it says (for # 97) "SNS #97: The correct answer should be A on the Answer Keys page."
and for # 89 it says "SNS # 89: Diagram in the question should read as follow: ( the diagrams shows 2 of the side rings only, and not the middle ring). So you are getting the correct answer. Its just the diagram in the question is incorrect.
