Hi everyone,

Iam a Canadian student and I just read the PHARMCAS website, however, iam having trouble understanding their GPA conversion chart (under the FAQ):

they have the following listed:
100-90A (4.0)89-80B (3.0)79-70C (2.0)69-60D (1.0)>60F (1.0)

and also this:

Q: What is the grading scale that PharmCAS uses to calculate GPAs?
A: The grading scale used at PharmCAS is as follows:
A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, AB = 3.5, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B- = 2.7, BC = 2.5,
C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, C- = 1.7, CD = 1.5, D+ = 1.3, D = 1.0, D- = 0.7, DE = 0.5, F = 0

which one is it?

That depends on whether your school uses the 100% system or letter grading. And you would use that to convert the GPA.

so if u use the % system ur screwed?
ahahhaha

and my school uses both % and a+,a,a-, etc

...dude... schools use both simultaneously. The % scale decides where you get an A or a B. 90 is A(4 points x # of credits of class), 89 is B(3 points). Add up all your Grade Points and divide them by the number of credits you have. That is your Grade Point Average....

holy ****!!

even medschools are more lieniet!

for the canadian system anything above an 80 is worth a 3.7+...

but for pharmcas= value of 3..my grades drop from a 3.27 to a 2.32!!

is that even usual?

A=4.0
B=3.0
C=2.0
D=1.0

doesn't is convert for you? ...I thought I remembered it doing that
