Help Please!? FAP and Applying

Due to different circumstances, I was only able to send the supporting documents for FAP yesterday, and I had it sent overnight so that it could get there ASAP. Now, I know it takes a while for them to process everything, and someone else told me it took them about 2 weeks, but now I'm in a dilemma with my application.

Should I wait to see if I qualify for FAP before applying? It would definitely help me a bunch, I only have so much saved in my savings account, and I was hoping that would put a dent into my interview expenses. But, I don't want to wait the week or so after June 2 if it'll hurt my chances to get into a school. My stats aren't that great (3.4, 29M) so I was hoping the early application would help a lot.

What do you guys think?

2 weeks? I heard back from them in less than a week.

I also heard back from them in about a week or so, but i applied for FAP early ( like in Jan or Feb). If you can wait another week or two before submitting your application, I think you should wait until you hear back from FAP before applying esp if you dont have the financial resources to pay all the fees. FAP DEF helps!!!

Yeah I would wait too with those stats. It would save you a lot of money God forbid you had to apply again.

Thanks for the responses, I was just afraid that if I didn't hear back until maybe Jun 8th and applied then that I may have missed the early opportunity. I was also thinking about maybe breaking into my savings and just applying to 1 school and maybe sending the rest of my school choices in after that....though the first fee is the more expensive....
