As the title states, I am lost. I don't know what to do and I need advice. I am an aged out of foster care adult, about to graduate with 2 bachelors degrees in May, (one B.S in health sciences and the other B.A in sociology). My institution GPA is 3.68 and my science gpa is 3.4, but my overall (including dual enrollment from HS) is 3.52 and brings my science gpa down to 3.03 (because i was being moved around in foster care my senior year of HS, my grades really got affected.) I live in FL. My only dream is to become a doctor but I feel because of my grades, I won't be admitted.

I plan on applying to medical school this spring, and taking a masters program (its free for me) during my gap year. How can I let the medical schools I'm applying to know this? Will they factor in this GPA, even though I'm applying for medical school before the program even starts?

-Is there a better way for me to get into medical school?

-What do you think about my GPA, is it time for me to give up?

I apologize for the stupid questions. My advisors can't help.

It will be obvious to any screener that you did fine in college and that the high school you is not the current you.

So you're talking an MS next year, over the 2021-22 cycle, yes. There's usually some spot for future plans.

If you asking will your MS GPA be added to your cGPA, no it won't for MD, but will for DO, once you have your Fall 2021 grades (sent in an update).

All of your GPAs are higher than the normal pre-screen cuts - so your application should be screened by an actual person.

Your actual college GPA isn’t bad enough to fret over. Kill the MCAT, have some solid ECs, make sure your personal statement and secondaries are the best pieces of literature you’ve ever written, and explain your circumstances, and you should be fine.

You have a very compelling story and your grades are stellar considering your circumstances. Keep working hard and don't let anxiety get the best of you.
