I've resigned myself to being a reapplicant for the next application cycle, since all of the rejection letters have now rolled in. I was waiting to see how everything panned out before deciding to retake the MCAT, and now I will have to take the August test. I want to reapply for the next cycle, but if I do, the schools won't know about my new (and hopefully improved) score until late October, which just happens to be about the time most of the seats are taken for the next class. The MCAT is the only thing that I can do ( aside from applying much earlier than last time--my applications were complete in November--) to improve my app., since I'm graduating in a couple of weeks and obviously I won't be able to finish a post-grad/improve my GPA between now and June. Should I apply anyway, and hope that applying earlier will give me a better shot, and add to the application that I'm waiting for new MCAT scores to come in, or take the August test and wait for the following June before applying? Stressing out and any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Most medical schools start interviewing in September and October; I don't believe that classes are full anytime near that early. In fact, this year NYCOM didn't even start interviewing until around November and PCOM didn't interview until late either. UMDNJ is still interviewing now in April. I think that you should really dedicate yourself to the MCAT over the summer, get your essays written, land a new LOR or two, and resend the transcripts to AACOMAS. Then, you will have everything ready for the moment you get your MCAT score back in early October to just hit submit and you should be good to go.

I did not apply until late Nov. I got accepted into three programs. Just go for it.

Apply this summer, and take the MCAT this August. Your application will be looked over before the MCAT is available at most schools.
