hey,
So I was anticipating a call during work and realizing how tired I was I did something stupid. I called myself in a prescription for provigil 100mg 5 tabs with no refills using my DEA license. I figured it would be valid because of the Shift work sleep disorder that I feel like I have which is one of the indications for its use. So provigil is a schedule 4 med and after I picked up the medication I realized that I should not have called in a prescription like that for myself. Now I find myself worrying about the consequences. I took one pill and still have four remaining. What should I do now? I do not want to lose my medical license. That was stupid and I realize this now so what should I do. I would really appreciate someones help. Thanks

No one is going to care about a single prescription. Simply don't do it any longer, and you'll be fine.

If you're really worried about it, go see your PCP. Have them document, in your medical record, that you have an indication for the drug and they they agree with prescribing it.

This is good advice. If I could add, go to a staff physician, not a resident and someone who works outside of your hospital system (if possible).
