Hey so I took my first DAT, last year 2010 and applied to all the Cali, NY, FL and Arizona schools. I scored AA 18 TS 18 21 PAT. I got interviews at Western and Midwestern in AZ. I didnt get into any schools this year so I decided to retake my DAT to improve my scores. I scored AA 19 21 TS 20 PAT, my lowest score was a 16 in RC (Pianoed lol). So my question is what are my chances of getting into schools this year with my stats and should I take my DAT again in 3 months hoping to score even higher. I really want to get into USC as it is my state school and close to home. I have taken all my prereqs at a community college and have a science GPA of 3.6 and overall 3.6. I want to take a Anatomy/Physiology course online at UCLA extension over the summer and Biochemistry online at UC Berkley extension. What do you guys think i should do in my year off and how do my chances look to getting into schools with my scores and GPA. I have tons of dental office experience (over 600 hrs) and lots of volunteer work and research.

Thank you in advance sorry for the long thread lol im just really worried.

Remember that some schools do not accept pre-reks from community college. Be aware of this if when applying, in order to save time and $$$.

Other schools have cut offs around 17 for RC. You should avoid any school that you do not meet the cutoff requirements to. Just another thing to look for.

Your scores are solid (not exceptional but solid) and should not be a problem if you apply to the right schools. If your dream school is UCLA then I would apply but know that chances are slim... Otherwise the majority of the schools you apply to should fit your statistics. If the entering class has AA of 23 then I would avoid.

Would not advise a retake but you should apply to as close to june 1st as possible to help get into the first batch out. This should help (not guarantee) with getting more interviews.

Good Luck👍
