I took a Physics 1 course this summer and got a D. I wanna repeat the course again next year summer and do better. Do DO/MD school need all prerequesities completed with a C or better AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION OF THE APPLICATION???

I will be applying next year summer. And the application will already be out before I can repeat the course and get a C or better. Will DO/MD school put my application aside because I recieved a D in Physics 1 and not process it because its not complete (with a C or better)???

Or can i still submit my application and then send in my Physics grade once I recieve it around Mid July???? Can I submit that grade to AAMCOMAS, OR AMCAS AFTER the application has been submitted in June???

Please let me know. Thank you for your feedback!!! 🙂

You can submit with the D, and you can probably contact the schools and let them know you are re-taking. You can then update once you have the better grade.

However, I suspect that unless you are an exceptional candidate otherwise most schools are going to withhold looking at you until it is changed as you don't meet application requirements.

Ultimately, I would pick a school or two and just call and ask.

There is the option of putting that you are going to repeat the class (R01) then you put the classes you are planning you take you put is as a repeat not yet completed (RNY) when you send in your final transcripts they will update the grades.

They don't need it at the time of the application, but I wouldn't be surprised if they put you on hold or even outright rejected you for that "D." You'll need a stellar application for them to overlook it.
