I'm new to this website and wish I had known about it sooner. I'm in a bit of a dilemma and am terrified I just ruined myself for this cycle. 🙁

My committee letter still hasn't been turned into AADSAS. I've asked about my letter several times but the committee still hasn't sent it out yet. What do I do? Everything else on my AADSAS application is done. I just need that letter. Can I E-submit it first and wait for the letter to get to AADSAS later? I thought you had to have everything done before you E-submit it and I know it takes awhile for AADSAS to process grades and such.

What are my chances of getting an interview if I'm this late? The school that I'm aiming for is in-state and has an early deadline. I'm applying for other schools too but I think my chances are better in-state. I was told that I have good enough stats, volunteer hours, and experience to at least get an interview, but I'm afraid that waiting for this letter has cost me even that. 🙁

Lastly, I've only figured out 4-5 schools I'm applying to and would appreciate it if you could advise me on other schools to try for. I may have lost these early deadline schools.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

P.S. I posted this in one of the other forums, but I think it may be the wrong place to ask for help so I'm posting it again here. I'm not trying to post annoying repeated posts, I just can't figure out how to delete the other one.

If I were you I would go back to your committee and ask them to send the letter. If they aren't willing to send it ASAP, then I would ask for the individual letters from your professors and dentist to be sent in right away. Your app seems solid, no worries. You can contact AADSAS directly to ask them if you can e-submit it first. As for dental schools to apply to, that's up to you. Cost is a big factor unless your doing some kind of scholarship deal. Location is another big factor, I've heard it is much easier to open up practice in the same region that you went to dental school because of the regional licensure boards. Then there's the academic and clinical components. Some schools seem to be very good in those areas. I've heard schools, like Temple and UoP for instance, have top-notch clinics with plenty of patients. UoP also has an accelerated 3 year program. Then, there are the super competetive private schools like Harvard, Penn, UCLA, Columbia, etc., that'll probably open up some doors as far as research and stuff if that's your thing.

You can e-submit your AADSAS before the committee letter is received. Do it now! They actually processed and mailed my application to the school I applied to before receiving the committee letter and then sent the committee letter electronically right away when it was received. It did not take anytime at all for the school to receive my letter once it was submitted. But send everything you've got immediately, if not sooner.

:luck: Good luck.

The committee letter finally came in a day after I posted this.. I think they got tired of me asking about it 😳. Thank you everyone for all the advice. I appreciate it a lot, and it calmed my anxiety a bit. Lol. Just a bit. Now the wait begins. Good luck everyone!
