i am taking my step 1 in less than a week. freaking out a little because i took nbme 2 this morning and did not score as well as i had hoped. scored 520 (corresponds to 224 on the chart), and scoring in the low-mid 70s on QBank for the past several weeks. can anyone speak as to the predictive value of NBME 2 (I have not taken any others), and anything that i can do over the next 4 days???

i am really feeling discouraged and looking for some encouragement. any help is greatly apprectiated...

thank you,

from what i've seen posted, +/- 10 pts is what others have said.

also, 224 isn't a bad score. i guess you could look at your score distribution and try and tailor your studying to that if you want something to do for the last week, though.

another point, as well. if you're scoring that high on Qbank, you likely know your stuff. i'd suggest trying to maybe relax a bit or just take a bit more time to think things through. i've only taken one nbme so far (form 1) and i think it takes a somewhat different approach than qbank.

I personally feel form 2 should not be a good predictor of step 1 score. So many WTF questions, especially 2nd and 3rd block. I have so many guessed question that I start to feel panic. 224 is a good score though!!!

thank you so much for replying-- you guys really helped to make me feel a lot better and renewed my motivation... best of luck to you both if you have yet to take it...
