I am just a layman with a potential time sensitive problem. This is also posted in the Vet section of this forum.
i was attacked Feb. 24 by a large dog on my mid back. neither the owner or their vet has been able to provide proof of current vaccination. The local Sec de Salud (health dept) allowed the dog to remain on public beach tied to the owners restuarant.
The vet being aware of the attack and the quarantine, visited the animal on day either day 3 or 4 and gave the dog a rabies vaccination.
I was told this afternoon by Senior Health Department official, Director Sec. de Salud, Baja Calif Sur, that he felt that the vaccination would have no influence on the outcome of the quarantine.
I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE A SECOND OPINION, There have been too many examples of misinformation being given to me during this time period by various local officials.
Viewed from a distance, he is on a 5 meter chain, he appears to be in the same health as at time of attack (Feb 24 today is Mar 5)
Eitlher personal knowledge or a net reference dealing with this situation, please.
