Some schools specifically request a letter from a professor in your major. I was an econ major as an undergrad and am a post-bac student now. It's been a really long time since I've talked to an econ professor, and moreover I don't think any of them could write me a decent LOR anyway.

Any advice? NYMC, for example, specifically asks for a major letter and I'm not sure what to do!

call the schools that require a letter from your major and ask them how stringent that policy is. i imagine that they've dealt with your situation before and can give you a clear answer. good luck!
