Ok guys, I have my NAPLEX exam TOMORROW! at noon.... and I'm TERRIFIED!!! I don't feel prepared. I know the math pretty well, I did the 120 calcs from here and I'm going to do them again tonight so I can at least get that part right... but everywhere else I feel like I'm lacking! I can't remember what things are renal/hepatic or refrigerated/non refrigerated, max doses for everything, lab values for everything, brand names of obscure things like chemo meds and such... I never worked in a pharmacy through school and I feel like that screwed me!! I did OK in school...graduated obviously... but I don't feel like I know anything and I'm terrified to take this exam... :scared:

Anyone have any words of wisdom from people who took the exam already of what it's really like?? If you know the math and paid attention in school will you usually pass? Or do they ask things you have to do hardcore studying and memorization to really get right??

Help! :barf:

I was pretty confident on my math and calculations.
I was so-so in pharmacy school.
I did not work in a pharmacy during pharmacy school.

I passed rather comfortably.

If you at least paid attention in pharmacy school and not freak out during the exam, you'll be fine.

did u try taking the prenaplex? it's a pretty good indicator of your real naplex score...although im not sure if you want to take it the night before...because you can't change your date anyway..and it might freak u out if u do bad.

Good luck! If you cant figure something out, try to rationalize through it and see what sticks out the most in a profile. You're almost there...Dont forget to breathe and BE CONFIDENT!

You got this ****!! Trust me, information you shouldnt even remember will come back when you take the exam.

Calculations aren't bad. I just did RxPrep and was sufficiently prepared for all parts of the test. Now MPJE is a different story...

Is Phenytoin correction equation something we should memorize? I cant find the equation in Rxprep...Only saw the Calcium one

I wouldn't worry about memorizing equations like that. Know your basics..CrCl, IBW, AdjBW, and other stuff mentioned in rxprep.

Well it's over! Thank you everyone for your words of encouragement! Sometimes my anxiety gets the best of me!

It was tough but I think I did alright. There were a lot I didn't know (most of brand names I had to know weren't even in the top 300) , but I also remembered more than I thought I would which felt good. I am usually a fast test taker but I ended it with only 14 minutes left! 😱

I took the pre-naplex before I started studying anything about 3 weeks ago to see where I was and I only got a 71 🙁 so that freaked me out, I was too scared to take it again the night before in case I didn't pass it would freak me out more!

Anyway, just wanted to thank those of you who took the time to post some words of encouragement, it really did help me!

Now I just have to wait WEEKS to find out if I passed.... 👎

You passed dont worry. My friend was telling me she knows someone that missed 60 questions...yeah 60!! and still passed...So if you have an Ok feeling about most of it, especially the math..then you 'll be fine 🙂)

Thanks, I'm actually starting to feel more nervous about it because some of my friends who always did WAY better than me in school and studied for like months and months for NAPLEX, said they thought it was "SO SO HARD" and they thought they failed but they ended up passing. I actually felt like I did pretty well on it when I left...so naturally I think it might be because I messed up in the beginning and only got easy questions for the rest and failed....

Anyone have an experience like this? All I hear from people is that it's soooo hard and people think they failed and ended up passing...and that if you felt good about it you probably failed.

Anyone feel like they did a pretty good job on it and did in fact pass?

And how did someone know they missed 60????

I think they mean by missing 60, they ran out of time with 60 questions to go.

Can't be, it said they missed 60 questions and passed, but you have to answer at least 162 to get a score. So you can only miss 23 and still receive a score.

Anyway, still wondering if anyone walked out feeling like they did well and actually did do well...or if that means they failed. :/ I didn't feel like it was so bad, it seems as though that means failure for many people.

She said she went home and looked up her questions and thats how...idk..but I do know a cpl of ppl that walked out feeling like it went well and still passed it well! A friend of mine knows she bombed the math but still passed in 90's...just have to wait and see.

So I found out just now that I PASSED!!!!!! :soexcited:

BUT I have to say I think I was right that I was getting easier questions because I wasn't doing so well because I only got a 98 and I know I killed it on ALL the math, I knew it so well, so I must not have done so well on the rest....Everyone I know who got scores in the 120's said their questions were REALLY hard..... anyway, I don't care cuz I PASSED!! 😀

In case there are people out there who did not do so well on the calculations portion of the exam, please do not worry. I had roughly 10 questions of calculation questions that I did not learn primarily because they were not on the calculations packet 😉 I kept getting similar questions obviously because I did not get them right the first many times. The rest of the calculation questions were different from what was on the packet as well but I was able to solve it backwards from the possible answers they provided. I had many patient profile questions. After all that, I still passed. So just because you didn't do well on your calculations doesn't mean you failed.

My pre-naplex score: 100
Naplex score: 120
