Help test tomorrow

i got my test tomororw and hess's law and heat of formation are mind F****** me right now, i swear in some examples its prod - reactants and in others you just add them all up, mainly i'm talking about hess's law when it gives you a reaction and then 3 mini reactions underneeth with values and you have to like swtich one or two depending on what side of the arrow they are on, could someone straignten this out right now for me please!

Hess law is when u add up the mini rxns,

Heat of formation is the products - reactants.
