Help! Trying to find some info re. fellowships

What are the criteria for a fellowship match? Letters and research only, or board scores (USMLE's for US, I'm in Canada) as well?

Also, where can I find numbers on what percentage of applicants matched into a fellowship? (I'm interested in heme/onc). Thank you.
