Hi everyone. I've been studying for two months from first aid and usmleworld qbank.

I completed my usmleworld qbank and got 60% overall (60x2.4 + 84 = 228). Then I completed NBME #6 and got 185.

I need help! Why is there such a large discordance? What do I do? How should I study differently... my exam is in 2weeks.

Have you been studying alot? Ask yourself how much you've actually put into the Step 1. Have you gotten through all of UW?

The results from one test probably aren't as predictive as a larger sample like all of UW. Did you do UW under timed conditions?

If you are really freaking, maybe try taking another NMBE.
If you still have problems, figure out a game plan, maybe even push back the test date if you need more time. This one is too important to leave anything to chance.

How much have you been through on UW?
I went through about 70% of all Qs and got 60%, I think the equation is:
UW% x 2.44 + 70, not 84. Mine came up to 213.xx, and on UWSA1 I got 211, and on Form 6 I got 460/214.
I think it's pretty accurate, but I haven't taken the exam so can't really say if it's true. If the 60% is out of only 1/4 of Qs, maybe there's a lot more to pick up!

Back to study now...
