Which of these statements if true, would most WEAKEN the author's contention that....

I get the author's opinion - then when I get these questions my logic gets twisted and I end up falling for the wrong answer. Been trying different methods to tackle them but I always end up using about a minute to solve them.

Anyone with a good/fast/effective technique to solve these?

Thanks.

It's a little plainly obvious I suppose, but I like to look at each answer and just eliminate anything that could support the author. Everyone now and then I'll run into a neutral answer choice and I'll eliminate that too.
What's left would probably be the answer that would weaken the author's argument.

It's not really technique or anything I suppose, but with that question type, if I think about each answer choice, I end up finding ways in which more than one can somehow weaken the author's argument. So I try to approach it the other way around and look for things that strengthens the author's point.
